Complete Redemption In The Lamb Of God
1 Cor 5:7 (NKJV) Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Hebrews 9:22(NKJV) And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
The Apostle Paul mentions in the scripture that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. Jesus Christ is our only hope of salvation. He is God’s Lamb offered for the sin of the world. Those who have faith in the blood of Christ will be saved. The sins of men were temporarily dealt with because they would be reminded of their sins yearly in the Old Testament.
Any of the Israelites who chose not to apply the blood of the lamb on the doorposts would have perished with the Egyptians. Therefore, it is a personal decision for everyone who either choose to believe in the blood of Jesus Christ or perish eternally without acknowledging the power of the blood of Christ.
Heb 10:17-18 (NKJV) Then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
We are greatly blessed because the blood of Christ satisfied the wrath of God towards sin and granted us peace with God. The blood of Christ caused our sins to be completely blot out of God’s memory. Thus, He will remember our sins and lawless deeds no more.
Exodus 12:3-4,10 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb…. You shall let none of it remain until morning, and what remains of it until morning you shall burn with fire.
The passage stressed that the lamb had to be fully consumed before morning. The family was to eat the meat together with bitter herbs and unleavened bread. They were not allowed to keep the meat for later use. Any part that was not eaten must have been burned. It signified their complete participation in the death of the lamb. His life was taken, His blood was shed, the blood was applied, the meat was roasted, and the meat was consumed. Through these measures, the Jews were reminded that their redemption came through the death of a substitute. The lamb died in their place. By eating its meat, it signified the complete identification with the lamb who died for them. Along these lines, if you refuse God’s lamb, there is no other plan of salvation!
John 6:53-54 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
We have eternal life when we have faith in the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that He is the Passover lamb for us and the fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant. We are joined with God when we partake the covenant blood of Christ. We receive the benefits of His life. Christ is the covenant sacrifice and God’s provision for our sustenance. We have His divine nature in the new creation through the born-again experience. We can now walk in faith in this covenantal relationship!
