Hebrews 1:3 (NKJV) who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of humanity. He has purged our sins and dealt with the sin issues that separated us from God. After offering His blood in the heavenly Tabernacle, He sat down at the Father’s right hand. Jesus is our great High Priest, and He has offered up Himself as a sacrifice. His sacrifice is complete, eradicating the need for any other sacrifice after Him because there is no more need to deal with the sins of humanity. The redemption is done and complete, with nothing to add.
Ephesians 1:20-21, 2:6 (NKJV) which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come…and raised us up together raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
God has long planned and intended for Jesus to be seated with Him, and by God’s grace, made us sit with Him. We have absolutely nothing to deserve this position. It is purely the abundance of God’s grace.
We need to think about this truth, let it sink into our hearts, and have our minds renewed that we are seated in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Though we are still imperfect in the natural realm, we are seated with Christ in the spiritual realm. It is a positional truth and a big “done” by Christ instead of a big “do” by us, an inheritance and a spiritual blessing we have with Christ! It is a secure position.
Moreover, it is also a spiritual position that is far above all principalities, power, might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Demons or Satan are not above us spiritually but under the feet of Jesus, and we are the body of Christ. We are currently seated far above them. Therefore, we must enforce victory in the face of temptation and spiritual warfare because we are not trying to win a battle against the demonic forces. Instead, Christ has already won over the demons and disarmed them. He is seated beside the Father, and we are seated with Him!
God has invited us to sit beside Christ, and this blessing has nothing to do with what we have done to deserve the position. When we pray, we are praying from this spiritual position against our enemies—a position of victory and authority in Jesus’ name!
