Main Passage: Exodus 25:40; 39:42-43; 1 Chron 12:16-18

“So the people of Israel followed all of the Lord’s instructions to Moses. Then Moses inspected all their work. When he found it had been done just as the Lord had commanded him, he blessed them.”
Exodus 39:42-43 (NLT)

  1. Are you committed to the success of God’s House as you are to your own house? In Exodus, for the tabernacle to be built and the garments of the high priest to be made, everyone do their work according to the pattern that God showed Moses. How does this apply in your church today? The building of tabernacle was blessed because of 4 important biblical principles that leaders and followers had followed. What are these principles? How would you apply the same principles and assist your pastor in carrying out the purpose of God in your church? In what ways?
    (Haggai 1:3-11, Num 11:16-17; Eph 2:12-13; Neh 4:6; Heb 8:3-6, 1 Cor 3:16)
  2. Do you like to have a friend like Jonathan who is fully devoted to David? Why would Jonathan choose to promote and protect David when he could have promoted himself? “Do what you think is best, Pastor. I’m with you completely, whatever you decide.” Does that phrase reflect your attitude? Share your thoughts.
    (1 Sam 18:1,3-4, 19:1-2, 20:30-33, 23:15-18; 2 Sam 1:26; Rom 12:10; Eph 4:2)
  3. Tony Cooke said, “It’s necessary to have some commanders, but it creates major problems if everyone in the church wants to be a commander.” Do you agree? Why or why not? Referring to 1 Chronicles 12:17-18, do you think ‘Alignment before Assignment’ is important to the success of the mission? Why or why not? How can you commit to the fulfilment of God’s purpose in your family, church or workplace? In what ways?
    (1 Chron 11:15-19, 12:16-17, 21-22, 29:10-13; Pro 3:35, 15:33, 29:23; Rom 13:4-5)
