Visions and Dreams
Dan 2:19 (NKJV), Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Have you ever received a vision from God? Or perhaps you desire a vision from the Lord? In the book of Daniel, we read how God found a man to reveal His secrets to and he revealed them through an interesting channel, a vision. The God we serve and know has mysteries and secrets as we read in Scripture, and we as the children of God can actually know these mysteries.
In this story, God revealed His secrets through a vision or dream in the night to the prophet Daniel. In the vision God gave, HE revealed another man’s dream, King Nebuchadnezzar, and interpreted the dream to Daniel. This was while he was working in the king’s palace. The dream was revealed after Daniel and his companions had importunately sought the Lord by prayer, the secret of the king’s dream, and the interpretation of it, were made known to Daniel, and to him only.
Notice how Daniel then blessed the God of heaven by giving thanks and praise to the Father of lights, from whom all wisdom comes, who heard his prayer, and revealed this secret to him. He calls the true God the God of heaven, because he is one who made heaven after-all and His throne has been established there.
God always seems to search for men and women and when He finds them He raises them up to use them for His glory. And one of the ways He uses us is by calling us to intercede on behalf of another person.
Ezekiel 37:1a the hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord.
In the scripture above, God showed a man named Ezekiel what was happening in the realm of the Spirit, which was quite different to the condition that was seen in the natural. God desired Ezekiel to prophesy the word and to call forth and proclaim the Spirit to move in the current situation. Someone must rise up to pray, prophesy the word, believe God to act, and then God will intervene.
God is Spirit therefore He will reveal to us things of the Spirit. Therefore, we need to be comfortable to operate in His realm. We need to learn to tap into it!
If you have ever wondered if God is also able to reveal things to you through dreams and visions, He can and He will. He is also able to give you the gift of interpretation if necessary. The question is whether you are hungry for spiritual things and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If God is able to use Daniel who worked in the king’s court then God is able to use the people who are working in the marketplace too! God can use you!
Acts 2:17 (NKJV) ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
God speaks of the last days through the Apostle Peter after the out pouring of the Holy Spirit upon all who were present. There are dreams He gives us that can relate to our lives, or possibly the lives of others. If you desire these kind of dreams and visions, the Lord is able to give them to you. God is a God who gives dreams and visions to His children!
