Do You Have Faith?

Do You Have Faith?
ICS Daily Devotions

Hebrews 11:1,6,30 (NKJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen… But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him…. By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. What truly gives substance to our faith is not what we can see because we don’t need faith once we have seen it, but it is the Word spoken to us.

Faith is built on God’s Word and His character.
Faith is built on God’s perfect love for us.
Faith is established on the covenant relationship that we have with God. Faith believes that our covenant partner will face this gigantic challenge before us just as He faced Goliath with David. Faith concentrates on what God can do to deliver us just as He delivered the Israelites.
Faith speaks to the mountain.
Faith believes that God’s angels watch over us continuously and surround us.
Faith believes that nothing is impossible with God.
Faith knows that God is the Lord of all flesh, and nothing is too difficult for Him.
Faith is built on the conviction that He will never leave or forsake us. Faith believes that He has built a hedge around us.
Faith in God allows us to experience His peace and joy despite our circumstances.
Faith stays with us in our hearts, and it will continue to grow if we feed it with the Word of God.

Joshua 23:14 (NKJV) “Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed.

These words form Joshua’s testimony of God being faithful to His promises to Israel: “Not one word of them has failed”. God honours His Word because He and His Word are One. It will come to pass even if it takes time.

If we want to have the spirit of faith, we need to know God and follow him wholeheartedly. Walking with God is living a supernatural life, the consecrated life, and carrying out great exploits for Him. God gets the glory when things are done His way and according to His plan. If we want the company or a complex marriage relationship to turn around, or a church to thrive, the necessary element is the spirit of faith.
