Will You Partner with God?
Mark 16:15-18, 20 (NKJV) And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”…. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.
Most of us would like to have the blessings of God and His assured presence whenever we embark on something in our lives, but the question is are you willing to be obedient in stepping out to do what He has asked you to do on His behalf? If we are not careful, it is easy to become more interested in God’s blessings for ourselves and start to live for ourselves rather than for the Lord. Therefore, we need to have an outflow from our lives by sharing the good news with others in order to continue to grow in Him.
The way to continue to hunger for the Word and be assured of God’s presence is to share the good news. We need to obey God’s Great Commission so that there will be a constant flow of God’s Word in our lives. Otherwise, we will be prone to complacency in our Christian living and having a consumer mentality when it comes to being a Christian. However, as we reach out to others and follow up with a new believer, we will grow spiritually because it makes us digest and process the Word. Therefore, as a disciple of Jesus Christ, we need to share the blessings of God through sharing the Gospel with the lost and following up with new believers.
All of us are commissioned to preach the Gospel to the people around us, but many of us are deterred by the fear of rejection. What we need to understand is that we are messengers for God, and it is the Holy Spirit’s work to convict the heart of the listener, so when people say no, they are not rejecting us but the Gospel. Also, some of us will be sowing the seed of the Gospel while others will reap the harvest at the appropriate time. Therefore, the most important thing for us is to have the urgency and willingness to partner with God to share the Gospel. There is power in the Gospel! What a wonderful privilege it is to partner with God. Therefore, go forth and share the good news!
