Be Strong In The Lord

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.

Are you using your own strength to be strong in the midst of a crowd, in the work place, in the family and society? God did not ask us to be strong in ourselves but He tells us to be strong in Him and in the power of his might.

To be strong in the Lord means no matter what crisis we face, we can draw power from the Holy Spirit to help us on matters beyond what our mental, intellectual and physical strength can comprehend. The word “power” means the ability to do what you were not able to before Jesus came into your life. It is an inner strength that is available to us in the inner man.

Being strong in God in the inner man is having complete trust and faith in Him especially in regards to who He is, His character and the covenant that He has with us.

We have faith in the power of His might especially the position that He holds in the whole of creation and His power against the enemies! It is total dependence on God.

Faith in God will begin to arise within us or it already resides in us when we have meditated upon the extent of God’s love regarding the length, the breath, the depth and the height of God’s love.

God went to the extent to make us accepted in the beloved, redeemed by His blood to make us holy, blameless and righteous before Him, and adopted us as His children.

The time we spend soaking in God’s Word will strengthen our inner man. In the darkest moment when pressure is applied to us, we counteract with the Word of God to sustain us and He will give us victory. It is vital that we rely on God for help, through the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit fights the battle for us during times of crisis if we let Him take control.

There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love and this truth will cause us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. His might is found in His supreme position and authority.

We have to get used to the idea that we are in a new kingdom! We are no longer in the devil’s camp, his influence or a slave of sin anymore. We are SAINTS!  Not only are we in a new kingdom, but also we have a new position, with a new ability, a new master who loves us and we are a new creation!

As we meditate on these truths, we should expect things to get better as we draw closer to God. God will help us overcome whatever sins that used to plague our lives and give us the power to overcome the devil.

Ephesians 1:20-23 Which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 FAR ABOVE ALL principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.  22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

It’s wonderful to know that we reign in life with Christ based on the spiritual position that He has given us. Once we’re aware of this position in Christ, we can be strong in the Lord.   Know that we are not facing the situation or crisis from a defeated position against the enemies but from a position of victory, authority and power.
